The tea ceremony is a refined practice of hospitality through serving matcha. Every movement, utensil, and element of the tea room has meaning, nurturing mindfulness and compassion for the present moment.

Booking Process
To book both the tea ceremony and sake tasting experiences, please make separate reservations for each by selecting your preferred date and time on their respective pages.
- Please book your preferred date and time via this website or our booking site with advance payment.
- After booking, you will receive a confirmation email.
- On the day of your experience, come to Sanjo Chasuian 5 min before the session.
Both tea ceremony and sake tasting are held in the same venue. Everything is thoughtfully prepared to warmly welcome you. Feel free to book on the day — we’d be happy to have you join us!

FAQ
1.Is there anything I need to bring?
→ Guests participating in the tea ceremony are kindly requested to wear socks or bring a pair with them. If needed, socks are available for purchase at the venue for JPY 200 (tax included).
2.Can I wear a kimono?
→
- Sanjo Chasuian offers an optional Uchikake experience for JPY 1,500 (tax included) at the venue. An uchikake is a traditional Japanese outer kimono typically worn as formal bridal attire and you can wear it during the session. As availability is limited and reservations cannot be made in advance, please inquire with our staff on the day of your visit if you would like to try on an uchikake.
- Please note that we do not offer standard kimono rental, dressing, or hairstyling services. However, guests may receive a special discount at one of our partner kimono rental shops, located approximately an 8-minute walk from our venue. If you are interested, please contact us in advance for more details.
3.Can children participate?
→ As the tea ceremony takes place in a serene and intimate atmosphere, children aged 6–12 may join under a “Shared Plan”. Children aged 5 and under are welcome only with a “Private Plan”. If a shared session is reserved by mistake, guests will not be able to participate and no refunds will be issued. Sake tasting experience is for guests aged 20 and over only.
4.Can I join if I need with an interpreter?
→ The experience is conducted entirely in English. For tea ceremony, guests requiring an interpreter must book a “Private Plan” to maintain the serene atmosphere. If a shared session is reserved by mistake, an interpreter will not be able to participate and no refunds will be issued. For sake tasting, please note that if you bring an interpreter, the interpreter will also be charged the standard participation fee.
5.Can I experience both the tea ceremony and sake tasting?
→ Yes. Please book each experience separately.
6.What is the maximum group size?
→ Tea ceremony: Up to 10 guests/Sake tasting: Up to 6 guests. For groups of 11 or more for tea ceremony, please contact us by email for inquiries.
7.Can I book on the day of the experience?
→ Yes, if there are available slots. Please check the booking form for availability.
8.Can I change or cancel my reservation?
→ Please refer to the cancellation policy on each booking site. For changes, contact us via the inquiry form or WhatsApp.
9.Can a companion who is not participating wait inside the facility?
→ Please note that companions who are not participating are not permitted to observe the session or wait inside the facility.
